History of Genesis

Genesis was founded in 2015 in Seoul, South Korea by Hyundai where it immediately went up against some of the biggest names in the automotive industry, namely Audi, Mercedes and BMW. 

The brand always set out to battle these competitors by offering luxury at an attractive price while bringing strong levels of dependability to the table. 

It didn’t come to the UK until 2021, when it brought a selection of petrol and diesel models before launching all-electric ones soon after. 

Standout Genesis features

Forget its owned by Hyundai for a moment and let’s celebrate its successes it’s achieved on its own. Firstly, it’s more than 10 years into making luxury cars and it’s still going – a big achievement in of itself in the car industry. 

Secondly, it’s ranking highly among buyers and is following the same trend as Lexus being the luxury arm of Toyota. 

Standout features include high-resolution displays, safety tech and the crystal ball found in the centre of the GV60 used to control the infotainment system. 

Driving a Genesis
