What features does the OMODA 5 have?

OMODA has plenty to shout about with its family crossover, which is loaded to the brim on even the most basic trim level.

Standard technology, which is high on the lists of many drivers, includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on a large 10.25-inch display connected to a SONY sound system and a second 10.25-inch display behind the steering wheel.

All OMODA 5 cars for sale have keyless entry, front and rear parking sensors and a wireless phone charging tray with a built-in cooler to stop your phone from overheating – something that not many other cars have.

Higher trim levels include upgrades like a 360-degree parking camera, dual-zone climate control with a cabin filter and power opening for the sunroof and boot lid.

The OMODA 5 is quite a new car to the UK, so long-term reliability is yet to be confirmed, but early reports and customer feedback have been positive.

Engine choices for Chinese cars aren’t usually as broad as more familiar brands – in the case of the OMODA 5, you’ll get a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol unit.

It has a good amount of poke – 186hp – and the 0-62mph time of 7.8 seconds isn’t slow. It doesn’t feel particularly fast or engaging to drive, and the official fuel economy figure of 37.7mpg is disappointing.

Thankfully, there’s an electric OMODA E5 that can be much cheaper to run. It has a claimed range of 257 miles, which is about average for affordable family electric cars.

A full charge of the 61 kWh battery could cost as little as £4.30 on a cheap off-peak tariff (7p/kWh) at home.
